Let us help verify the Shares involved.

While Artshare.com is not responsible for any transaction between a buyer and a seller on the Trading Board, we do want everyone to have a good experience.

Therefore, we want to help with the transaction process by letting the buyer confirm that the seller is indeed the Shareholder for the Share(s) involved.

We can help in two ways:

1. Is the person on the Shareholder list? Artshare.com recommends that a Shareholder choose to be listed on the site with the Shares he or she owns.

2. You can email us. Are you getting ready to complete a transaction? Send us a "Verification Request" and we'll compare our information to the information that the Shareholder gave you.

How would the process work?

Let's say you see Share #001 for sale posted by "Jonnyart". You bid on the Share and win the auction. At that point the contact information for "Jonnyart" will be sent to you via email.

You find out that "Jonnyart" is really John Q. Public. You check the Shareholder list and see that John Q. Public is indeed registered with Share #001. Everything's good so far.

For an extra step of security, send an Verification Request to Artshare.com stating the details of the transaction.

We'll compare the Shareholder information provided to you to our information on file. If everything matches up we'll let you know.

This system is designed to make it more difficult for perpetrators to commit fraud. However we can not account for the intentions of any individual. Please exercise discretion when conducting a transaction.

Refer any questions to the Trading Board User Agreement at the bottom of the help page.
